Community Values & Agreements
At The Presence Effect Choir, we aim to create a calm, welcoming, and protected space where people can deepen their connection with their voice, themselves, and one another through singing. Together, we agree to help nurture a choir environment that is mindful, inclusive, respectful, and joyful.
Our Shared Values
Every Voice is Welcome
We honour all voices in their individuality and uniqueness.
We value expression over perfection and aim to create a non-judgemental, non-competitive space where everyone feels safe to sing freely.
Respect & Presence
We respect one another’s physical, emotional, and energetic space.
We support moments of quiet, listening, and reflection, helping to maintain the mindful atmosphere of the group.
Please respect the privacy of others and avoid sharing personal information or experiences shared within the group outside the choir space without consent.
We respect personal boundaries and ask members to seek consent before initiating physical contact or offering emotional support.
Kindness & Community
We strive to be warm, welcoming, supportive, and inclusive.
We recognise that community is built through mutual respect, care, encouragement, and shared joy.
We welcome people of diverse backgrounds, identities, abilities, and levels of musical experience.
We strive to meet members needs, however we are unable to offer one to one support.
Listening & Participation
Everyone is invited — never pressured — to contribute thoughts or reflections during sessions.
We support all voices being heard and remain mindful not to dominate the space.
Safety & Boundaries
We maintain a zero-tolerance approach to discriminatory, aggressive, harassing, or persistently disruptive behaviour in any form.
The emotional and physical wellbeing of the group is prioritised, and the Choir Director may, at their discretion, pause or end a member’s participation where necessary to support the wellbeing of the group.
While we aim to create a supportive environment, The Presence Effect Choir is not a therapeutic or clinical support service.
Commitment to the Group
Please communicate attendance where possible, arrive prepared for sessions, and support the shared flow of the choir experience.
Practical Agreements & Policies
Attendance & Membership
Membership fees are due by the first session of each term or following a taster session. Please let Fran know in advance if you are unable to attend a session.
All members are asked to sign in on arrival so we know who to expect in the space.
Privacy
Personal information is used for membership administration, choir communication, event updates, and relevant choir news. Former members may occasionally receive updates unless they request otherwise.
Photography & Media
Photos or video may occasionally be taken during rehearsals or events for promotional and community purposes. Consent preferences shared during registration will always be respected.

Members are responsible for their own conduct and belongings. The Presence Effect Choir cannot accept responsibility for injury, loss, or damage resulting from inappropriate behaviour or misconduct.
